Degree Requirements
The master’s degree is offered under Plan A only. Plan A is defined as a minimum of 30 credits, eight of which must be from thesis research
Required (Core) Coursework:
PSL 7010 Basic Integrative Physiology Lecture I
PSL 7020 Basic Physiology Lab I
PSL 7030 Basic Integrative Physiology Lecture II
PSL 7040 Basic Physiology Lab II
PSL 7890 Physiology Seminar (1 credit/semester; F & W) (Attendance at seminars is mandatory for all graduate students!)
Advanced Courses:
2 Advanced level physiology courses for a minimum of 4 credits.
Minor Courses:
4 credits of multidisciplinary courses other than Physiology
Minimum didactic credits required: 22
Thesis/Dissertation Research & Direction: 8 credits PSL 8999.
Comments:
- Courses between the 5000-6999 level cannot be used towards a masters degree unless it has been approved by the Departmental Graduate Committee.
- No courses below the 5000 level can be used towards a graduate degree.
- Students enrolled in a master’s degree program are required to file a Plan of Work by the time twelve graduate credits have been earned. Students who fail to submit a Plan of Work my be required to take additional coursework. Following this, the application should petition his/her research advisor to advance to the rank of ‘candidate’.
- All coursework must be completed in accordance with the regulations of the Graduate School and the College. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 must be maintained throughout the program.
