Muscle Physiology Postdoctoral Position

Charles S. Chung, PhD is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to investigate the mechanical and molecular control of myocardial relaxation.  The newly established lab studies muscle physiology from both an in vivo and in vitro viewpoint.  Our lab focuses on in vitro muscle (cell and fiber) mechanics, and in vivo ultrasound and pressure-volume.  Our current funded project seeks to understand how myocardial stretch and altered passive stiffness (titin and ECM) modify myocardial relaxation.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent advanced degree) with research experience in physiology, biophysics, bioengineering, cell biology, or molecular biology.  Experience using intact cardiac cells, tissues, or organs and experience with muscle physiology would be a plus.  Interested applicants should summit a cover letter; a current CV; and the name, e-mail address, and phone number of three references to  Recruitment will continue until the position is filled.
