SURF Application

Application Information:

Prepare your application.  You will need:

• Required Personal Information:
  • Name
  • Email
  • Current college/university
  • Current major
  • Anticipated Graduation
• The names and contact information (email) of up to 3 references who can speak to your research potential.
  • You do not need to have your references send in a letter but do let them know that they may be contacted by your prospective mentor.
• Copies of:
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • An unofficial copy of your transcript
  • A personal statement
    • Make sure you describe your research interests
    • Describe your motivation for research
    • Name at least one faculty member you are interested in working with and describe why you are interested in working with them
      • Several faculty have provided a research description (https://physiology.med.wayne.edu/surf-opps)
      • Additional eligible mentors are listed as Physiology Primary Faculty, Henry Ford Hypertension and Vascular Reearch Faculty, and Translational Neuroscience Program Faculty
